Chemicals are sensitive and highly dangerous. When it comes to the packing and exporting of them, it has to be done carefully with all the necessary precautions. It is for this reason that there is a totally different type of packaging that is available just for chemicals. These packaging that has a larger surface area and an open structure are often manufactured by different column internals. There are different types of packing done for chemicals according to their nature. Here are some of them.
1. Structured Packing
It is a very effective way of packing and is used for a wide range of appliances for packaging. The high separation efficiency, low-pressure drop and high wettability make it a preferable packing for chemicals. The packing elements are made up of wire mesh or perforated metal sheet. While structured packing suppliers are not really high in number, there are quite a good number of manufacturers.
2. Tower Packing
It is a type of structure packing which is extremely useful for packaging chemical reactors, scrubbers, distillation processors etc. This packaging helps in quick absorption and separation. With high mechanical strength and low cost, these are preferred highly for chemical exportation. With good tower packing manufacturers, strong packaging is easily available.
3. Column Packing
With adequate area for expansion and fusion of gases and liquids, column packing is mainly used for packing chemicals that are vaporized. With the low-pressure drop, connecting resistant and low bed size, these are highly recommended. It is made with wire meshes and highly available as well. However, it is always better to see the best and take up the packing.
There are many more packings for chemicals. However, these are the common types dealt by column internals. These are the most suitable and highly recommended packing as well.
